Happy ThanksGiving!

“Happy ThanksGiving"

May you be aware of the state of grace as YOU this Thanksgiving. May you know just how wonderful the real you that you are now and forevermore. May you be in high praise and thankfulness moment by moment. And, may this attitude flow easily between all as the light of heaven transpires and conspires for good all around you.

I love you. I am in high praise and gratitude for you. Thank you!

We have just completed our series on “Trust”! And, wouldn’t you know it, I just now found this most amazing quote from A Course of Love? It never ceases to amaze me! We do two things. We first court Spirit, which means that we focus upon God as the very Love of our own being. Next, we set an intention. For example, “I want to understand ‘trust’ in a new way.” What happens? The universe conspires, breathes together, to support, to guide, to answer every question we are willing to ask. It is for this reason that I say we live in a “benevolent Universe”, one that is always providing the answer to the call of our heart. For this, I am grateful.

The gist of our conversation over the last several weeks has been to place our trust, our loyalty in the one thing worth valuing. What is that? It is Love. Love is real, lasting, unalterable, changeless. What is real cannot be threatened. It is like the sun, always there whether the day seems clear or cloudy. Love is who we are, regardless of whether we live from that awareness or not. Love, kindness, gentleness, and yes, power and strength all have its genesis in our ability to trust Love. As the song says, “Love will have the final word.”

“Real trust is not a trust that waits and hopes but a trust that acts from who you truly are. Real trust requires the discipline of being who you are in every circumstance and in every relationship. Real trust begins with your Self.” A Course of Love

Finally! You have full on permission to be You! No pretense. No conforming to old ideas of who others think you ought to be. What if you showed up exactly as you are and simply be that? What if you gave others permission to be and do the same? This means you extend the same courtesy to others. What if you greet each person this Thanksgiving anew, as if you’ve never met them before!

Imagine the wonder, the joy of discovery of this exercise. Rather than connecting from history, connect from the present moment. Consider the possibilities! Can you trust and allow the mystery to unfold?  Don’t place a limit by thinking you know anyone! Trust something new to be revealed to you! Any great adventure begins with you. As I’ve said, “You first!” What a great, playful opportunity to experiment with this little game this Thanksgiving!

It takes courage to trust who you now know yourself to be in a room full of people who know you from a past that is long gone. Yet, as you are willing to be vulnerable and honest with yourself, you begin to see others you may have held in an identity carved in a time long gone in a new light. Suddenly YOU see everything and everyone anew. You see how perfect it all is, the players, the scenery, the “table set before you” and you know it is good.

So, what does any of this have to do with gratitude, with Thanksgiving? Consider this Holiday that real trust is also the basis of gratitude. Let this trust to be the real you, a being of love and light, inform your every move and be the new basis upon which you meet others. Then, allow yourself to truly appreciate what and who you behold as they are revealed to you anew. Behold a quality, a way of being, a certain vulnerability you may not have noticed before. Consider everyone is just like you, doing the very best they can to remember who they really are, whether they know it or not. Remember, the power of your focus and your intention. Watch how the benevolent Universe reveals Itself, reveals Love to you in, through and as absolutely everything! For this, and so much more, I am grateful!

“Gratitude is the recognition of the state of grace in which you exist here and remain forever beyond all time and the passing of all form. It is an attitude of praise and thankfulness that flows between us now. The light of heaven shines not down upon you but is given and received in equal exchange by all who in creation exist together in oneness eternal.” A Course of Love
